Muslin, the creme de la creme of Indian handloom heritage, is a fabric of legendary proportions. It earned poetic sobriquets like 'woven wind' and 'evening dew' and 'flowing water'. But, what exactly is muslin, and what about it makes it so special? At our Online Talk #WovenWind, Indian textiles hobbyist Pritha Dasgupta discusses muslin’s glorious past, despairing present, and optimistic future, and explores what made it the textile that launched a thousand ships.
